Pizza Spots in Akron, OHThere is nothing like a good slice of pizza. Whether you like a thin crust or thick crust, a rich red meat sauce or a marinara, there are plenty of places to choose from in the Akron area, where each restaurant has its own unique style. Here is where you can find the best pizza in Akron, OH.

Luigi’s Restaurant

Luigi’s Restaurant on North Main Street in Akron has a little of everything Italian including delicious pizza. Their pizza dough is unlike the typical Italian dough. Instead, it’s a deep-dish focaccia-style bread. They top it with lots of sauce that goes right to the edges of the pie and then add cheese and your favorite toppings. Don’t expect to see a lot of crust with your pizza at Luigi’s but that is how their customers like it. Luigi’s is a family owned place and a staple in the Akron area. They serve lunch and dinner and stay open late at night including until 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The Brickoven Brewpub

On Canton Road in Akron, you’ll find The Brickoven Brewpub. Everything used to make the pizza here is made in house including the dough, the sauce, and the cured meats. They cook the pizza in a wood-burning brick oven, and they offer some unusual topping choices and combinations you are unlikely to find anywhere else. For something different try their massaman curry pizza or the Thai peanut pizza, or you can stick with the traditional toppings, which are also delicious. The Brickoven Brewpub also serves handcrafted beer brewed in small batches and aged right on site. They offer four in-house beers to start, with other offerings based on popularity and customer requests.

Guiseppe’s Pizza

You know a restaurant is good when the line goes out the door. Fortunately, at Guiseppe’s the line moves fast, so you don’t have to wait long. The pizza crust is buttery, and the sauce has just the right amount of spice. They always use fresh toppings, and you can make up your own combination or pick one of theirs. Try Darlene’s Favorite with spicy sauce, pepperoni, sausage, bacon, onion, and banana peppers for a delicious treat. Guiseppe’s has served up pizza in the Akron area since 1963, and you’ll find it on East Caston Road.

DeCheco’s Pizzeria

DeCheco’s on South Main Street serves up their famous original white pizza, which is a hit with the locals and visitors. They make it with their famous white sauce, banana peppers, black olives, and tomatoes. You can also get their balsamic steak pizza with a blue cheese balsamic sauce, onions, spinach, steak, and sun-dried tomatoes. This is a family-run restaurant with a friendly and funny staff. They serve lunch and dinner Monday through Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m and they close at 10:00 p.m.

These are just a few of the many excellent pizza places in the Akron area. Try one of these or choose another whether you want just a basic pepperoni and cheese or you want to try something new.
