Range topper!

From 300 miles of range thanks to a more powerful electric motor to ample cargo space, wonderful details are slowly being unveiled on the VW ID.7, promised to soon make its world debut and bring with it more power and better range than the ID.4. Built in Germany, this electric sedan for 2025 is poised to come to the United States next year. See what this near-production concept car is all about!

Here’s more….

Power set up!

The standard powertrain set up for the ID.7 includes a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive configuration with a 282-hp electric motor. It is important to note that that motor boasts more power than then RWD ID.4’s 201-hp motor. When unveiled in the United States, it will initially come standard with the same 77.0-kWh battery pack as the crossover.

This motor is expected to result in an EPA range of 300 miles, slightly behind the vehicle’s rivals, including from the Tesla and Hyundai lineup.

Another option made available by VW is a larger 86.0-kWh pack in other markets, with the automaker standing behind a WLTP range of 435 miles, which can translate to over 350 miles in the United States.

Take a look!

When it comes to its style and overall feel, the ID.7 appears just like many conventional four-door mid-size sedans. The difference, though, is that this model is presented with a hatchback design which results in ample cargo space! Add to that a gorgeous interior fully packed with tech and rear seats that fold to expand the cargo area even further, and this vehicle meets each and every one of today’s driver’s needs!

Inside, one will instantly notice a premium interior complete with high quality materials and an elegant design and proper fit — all of which you expect from VW — and with a high focus on augmented reality head up display as its centerpiece. There are backlit temperature and volume sliders as well as a new operating system with direct access to key climate functions. The ID.7 also features smart air vents and can sense your presence as you are walking up to it on hot and cold days and climatize the cabin.

Also inside, a new 15.0-inch touchscreen infotainment center is positioned, which is expected to be an improvement over the ID.4’s overly complicated software.

Five passengers can fit comfortably within the cabin, with a reality head-up display presented as standard. Drivers can also have the option of massaging seats and a driver-assistance system with automatic lane changes.
