AMPLE SPACE/EXPANSIVE VIEW
The new VW Bus is getting a big update, and that is made in clear in a roomy, comfortable interior that can accommodate groups big and small. A spacious interior that is customizable features seats that can be rotated and moved on tracks in the floor. Passengers benefit because they can set up the interior for a rest and can sleep comfortably. The revamped microbus can hold enough supplies for multi-day road trips.
The vehicle also has ample trunk space on both its front and back and is 194.5 inches long, 8.5 inches shorter than Honda Odyssey Minivan and 4 inches shorter than a Ford Explorer.
This revamped bus will allow each traveler the ability to view the landscape and open road in a way that makes each trip a journey of its own! Take a window seat and have a clear view of the scenery around you.
HIP EXTERIOR/MODERN AMENITIES
The revamped and redesigned Microbus is two-toned, with a light strip that illuminates around the vehicle for a unique visual signature. LED headlights have hexagonal segments that act as “eyes” to communicate the vehicle’s status, and near-zero body overhangs and 22-inch wheels makes the I.D. Buzz look modern and timeless, which is a hallmark of the VW brand design.
There are rectangular windows, a hint of a windshield sunshade and rear side air vents that speak to the original design.
Like many new cars on the market, the I.D. Buzz will use a touchscreen to control the car’s functions instead of knobs or buttons. You will also be able to open the car with your phone instead of a traditional key. From the fold-away steering wheel and pop-up laser scanners in the roof to a heads-up display that integrates augmented reality, the I.D. Buzz is all about innovation!
And while Volkswagen plans to introduced technology into the I.D. Buzz that could eventually allow for autonomous driving in the mid-2020s, now the car will have augmented reality features and laser scanners on the roof to make the driving experience all that much easier!
THIS BUS GOT POWER!
The I.D. Buzz will have 369 horsepower from electric motors on each axle that also provide all-wheel drive and the 111 kWh battery pack in the floor will provide about 300 miles of range per charge. Using a VW-fast charge system, it can recharge about 80 percent of its energy capacity in 30 minutes at 150 kW! The I.D. Buzz will hit a top speed of 99 mph and go from 0-60 mph in five seconds.

3/29/21 Update: The I.D. Buzz is expected to be launched in Europe for 2022, and in the U.S market, it’s expected in 2023 as a 2024 model.
