A look at the improvements!
Intuitive operation has improved greatly, with VW significantly enhancing the cockpit landscape on both the ID.4 and ID.5. Both of these model’s product lines have received brand-new latest generation software that is much faster than ever before and also is presented with more functions.
Both models also have the added benefit of a new infotainment system with a screen diagonal that has been increased to 32.8 centimeters (12.9 inches), running the software seen in the new ID.7.
The interface also gets improved with backlit touch sliders for both volume and climate.This infotainment system also boasts an entirely new menu structure with the Digital Cockpit and optional augmented reality head-up display also enhanced.
Other improvements include illuminated touch sliders for the air conditioning and volume control as well as a new multifunction steering wheel with its new operating logic.
Another key change to the inside of these vehicles is a new location of the driving mode selector. It has switched from within the housing of the Digital Cockpit to the steering column switch. This was done as a means to create space for what is a larger infotainment display
A new IDA voice assistant has a much more precise response than the past when it comes to natural voice commands and also includes new functions like cloud-based weather information and the status of sporting events or stock market prices.
A new premium sound system is also part of this new generation. The Harman Kardon blasts 480 watts of music output from 10 speakers and is presented as an option on both models.
The Infotainment system also has a completely new menu structure, while the standard Digital Cockpit and optional augmented reality head-up display also received enhancements.
Within the new infotainment upgrades is also a revised climate control interface, along with a new shifter position and an updated steering wheel layout.
