2025 Volkswagen Tiguan SE

What it offers!

The trim most people purchase, the SE, has much to offer, and desirable features abound. For example, all trim levels benefit from things like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights and taillights, two-zone climate control, a 10.25-inch digital gauge display, a large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, VW’s IQ Drive suite of driver assistance features, and much more! There is also a more-than-desirable price tag at under $35,000 that matches all these offerings.

Those opting for a step up, including the SE R-Line Black trim for $36,880, get the added head-up display, black accents and R-line badges. And for $41,180, the R-Line Tiguans are presented with illuminated front and rear light bars, three-zone climate control, quilted leather ventilated seats with massage function, 30-color ambient lighting, a Harmon-Kardon stereo and massive 15-inch infotainment display.

Ample features and refined driving dynamics are surely found here, with the Tiguan SE truly solid and substantial on the road thanks to a well-tuned suspension that quietly absorbs bumps and keeps things under control.

A quiet cabin is found here, with the interior both welcoming and comfortable and benefiting by a complete overhaul that incorporates all of VW’s latest interior design elements. That includes a massive infotainment screen and the consolidation of nearly all physical controls on the center console. Seats are not only supportive, but even in this lower SE form, they are covered in a convincing leatherette, and look and feel expensive. Headroom and legroom is generous with VW also introducing what it calls “Atmospheres” that changes the interior vibe from the ambient light color to the digital gauge color then to the audio volume alongside changing the vibe modes.

Speaking of lighting, the SE’s 10-color ambient lighting is a nice touch to what is considered a lower trim level, with a 12.9-inch infotainment screen more than enough.

Shorter overall and absent of its optional third-row seats, the new Tiguan shares the same wheelbase as before, thus making its interior extremely spacious. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 gets a 17-horsepower boost to 201, but all-wheel-drive models retain the same 221

pound-feet of torque. Tiguans with front-wheel drive also get a different transmission than all-wheel-drive models, though both are eight-speed autos.

An impressive product at an equally impressive price, these affordable SE models are definitely well equipped and on sale now! Those opting for a compact crossover with all the perks, but not all the price, has its perfect fit here. Sleeker, well-balanced and the best-selling model for a reason, the Tiguan SE truly has it all.

In its latest third-gen model, VW went back to the drawing board and gave it a complete makeover with more distinctive design elements, as well as added curvaceous panels, taking its inspiration from some of VW’s ID line of EVs. Add to that its signature and solid road-going manners, and this vehicle is your next best choice. Remarkable in every way and the epitome of true value at around $29,495 for the base front-wheel-drive model, the Tiguan SE is yours for the asking. Take a test drive today
