Power is perhaps one of the greatest add ons to the Tiguan for the 2026 model year – 67 more horsepower to be exact – making this vehicle all that more appealing! Under hood, the Tiguan Turbo, expected to cost around $48,000, features a more powerful version of the EA888 evo5 turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter TSI engine that powers the rest of the Tiguan range. This engine makes 268 horsepower, while torque increases from 207 lb-ft to 258, delivered between 1900 and 5400 rpm.
This improved performance is due in large part to a number of tweaks, including the fact that the engine has a larger turbocharger that results in higher boost pressure, combined with a lower 10.5 to one compression ratio. The engine also benefits from stronger pistons and connecting rods as well as a nitrided crankshaft. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Tiguan Turbo has standard 4Motion all-wheel drive.
In terms of style, the Tiguan features an LED light bar and illuminated logo that results in a distinctive light signature, along with slimmer, more modern headlights. With an athletic profile, due to a curved undercut above the front fenders that leads into a powerful shoulder line, the Tiguan at rear features a roofline extended by a spoiler. This not only helps optimize aerodynamics, but is paired along with side flow elements in the D-post and air curtains in the front bumper. A rear LED light bar and illuminated logo are similar to the front-end design, with a black roof as standard.
The Tiguan sits on 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and a striking color palette is presented. That includes three new stunning choices – Avocado Green Pearl, Sandstone Uni and Monterey Blue Pearl – all of which pair perfectly with the vehicle’s bold styling.
In the area of infotainment, the third-gen Tiguan benefits from a next-gen system and user interface, allowing for a tech-forward experience for motorists. A Driving Experience Dial is located
